At Witingham

This poem is set on the west coast of New Cumberland, Colina. The area is notable for its wide sandy beaches. In recent years, the winds that blow off the Ogen Sea have been harnessed as a valuable renewable-energy source; there are several wind farms in the area - both offshore and, as mentioned in the poem, onshore too. The poem also mentions the rigs of the Copesile natural-gas field, which are situated further out to sea. This zone, and its Croftfield neighbour, were once a key energy asset (are still in operation) but nowadays are scaling-down with the reduction of activity in the fossil-fuel extraction industry.
